Breastfeeding: requirements for a “workplace that supports moms”

A workplace that supports mothers (mother friendly) is one that takes steps to encourage and help mothers who want to continue breastfeeding after returning to work.

This is a set of minimum requirements regarding the physical and political space company warranting Mother Friendly certification by the local government. In the United States the initiative is managed by the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC for short) and the Department of State Health Services. In Texas, more than 1,200 workplaces have been certified.
